Search activity

We record searches, result status, timing, a browser identifier, IP address, browser information, and referring page to operate the service, diagnose failures, and limit automated use.

Email access

If you verify an email or join the waitlist, we store the address with the related access and communication records. We do not sell email addresses.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, device and browser categories, and product actions such as completed searches, report unlocks, filing-path choices, copy or print actions, official-link clicks, and feedback submissions.

We do not send the searched address, property PIN, email address, assessment values, selected comparable PINs, or filing text to Google Analytics. Property-result URLs are reported only as /results.

Payments

Paid filing package checkout is processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the information needed to complete the transaction, such as the checkout email, payment details, device information, and transaction amount. Simple Tax Appeal does not receive or store complete card numbers.

Public property records

Property PINs, addresses, characteristics, and assessment information come from public Cook County records. Your search and verified-email activity are not public.
